Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Electronics – Mission Integration to lead an interdisciplinary team developing EW subsystems for NGAS programs. Location options include San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL, with travel up to 10%.

The ideal candidate will drive HW/SW architecture, analyze performance, manage requirements and interfaces, and verify allocated requirements while guiding suppliers and internal teams through design, test and integration efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years in engineering.
• Experience with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Support, and multifunction subsystems.
• Experience decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level.
• Experience developing supplier documentation, performance-based specs, and statements of work.
• Experience with multidisciplinary teams and technical proposals.

Responsibilities

• Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support.
• Lead and support technical discussions with the customer with daily interaction with management and external personnel.
• Guide the team through development and implementation activities.
• Requirements development, analysis, maturation and translation into hardware/software specs.
• Perform risk analysis, create mitigation plans, and track to closure.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to integrate avionics and mission subsystems to meet objectives.
• Develop supplier documentation and review artifacts from supplier development.
• Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications.
