Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Engineer Electronics - Hardware Integration to join an interdisciplinary team in San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL. You will develop HW integration, define architectures, and work with suppliers on avionics and mission subsystems.

The role requires deep RF knowledge, system engineering experience, and the ability to travel up to 10%. A Top Secret/SAP clearance is required or obtainable in a reasonable time.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 12+ years in engineering or MS with 10+ years, or PhD with 8+ years.
• Experience with RF equipment for airborne platforms and EM spectrum knowledge.
• Active Top Secret / SAP clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Develop HW integration and test approaches for avionics and mission subsystems.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware specifications and interfaces.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, and firmware teams across programs.
• Create procurement specs and statements of work for suppliers.
• Document designs with schematics and interface control documents.
• Perform analyses to validate performance against requirements.
• Support supplier evaluation and technical selection processes.
• Configure and troubleshoot avionics and mission systems.
