TuxCare seeks a Staff Engineer to own major product components for KernelCare and SecureChain. You will combine hands-on software engineering (primarily Python on Linux) with technical product ownership, guiding end-to-end workstreams and coordinating with stakeholders.

• Proven experience owning major projects end-to-end.
• Strong hands-on Python development experience.
• Strong Linux production environment experience.
• Strong system design and architectural thinking.
• Experience turning broad needs into technical plans, milestones, and deliverables.
• Strong technical product ownership and alignment with business goals.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision.
• Strong communication with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to explain technical decisions, trade-offs, progress, risks, dependencies, and blockers.
• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools in planning and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Own major product components and workstreams end-to-end from discovery to production release.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, sales, and stakeholders to clarify requirements.
• Translate product goals into technical plans, milestones, and tasks.
• Design scalable architecture and make architectural decisions.
• Build and maintain production-grade components with reliability, security, and performance.
• Take ownership for production components and their evolution.
• Track progress and communicate results, blockers, risks, and dependencies.
• Research technologies, tools, market approaches, and competitors as needed.
• Contribute to engineering quality through reviews, guidance, and best practices.
• Use AI-assisted tools as part of development workflow (planning to code review).
