Job summary

Becton, Dickinson, and Company (BD) is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Urology and Critical Care R&D team in the USA. The role focuses on early-stage design within NPD, applying DFSS, DOE, and design controls to deliver high-volume consumables.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor R&D colleagues, and lead projects through design reviews and risk-based assessments to address market needs and ensure compliant, robust product development.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a design / development engineer.
• B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or related fields is required.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and influencing skills.
• Proficient in design control process, development, and commercialization in regulated industry. Ability to appropriately plan and monitor R&D activities.
• Application of engineering design process and statistical techniques in product development, such as Design for Six Sigma
• Ability to comprehensively plan and execute design validation.
• Experience in DFM and understanding of various manufacturing methods.

• Navigate projects through design control processes, including phase gates, design reviews, and technical assessments.
