Job summary

Primis is seeking a Staff Engineer for our Platform Engineering function to lead technical delivery, guide architectural direction, and raise the bar across the engineering team in a fully remote US-based role.

You will stay hands-on, write and review code, architect distributed microservices in C#/.NET, shape standards, and own CI/CD pipelines and IaC, collaborating closely with DevOps and platform colleagues.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in software engineering with hands-on C#/.NET delivery.
• Track record leading technically demanding initiatives end-to-end.
• Deep grounding in OOD, design patterns, and SOLID.
• Strong REST API and microservices delivery experience.
• Experience with SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, Linux/Unix, Git.

Responsibilities

• Own technical delivery on major initiatives while still writing and reviewing code yourself.
• Architect distributed, highly resilient systems and microservices in C#/.NET.
• Shape technical direction and influence key architecture decisions.
• Set the engineering bar, defining standards, patterns, and best practices.
• Coach and develop engineers through pairing, reviews, and design input.
• Deliver robust APIs and backend services that scale.
• Build and deploy cloud-native workloads on AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Collaborate with DevOps/Platform teams to keep systems running smoothly.
• Diagnose and resolve live production issues and drive root cause analysis.
• Strengthen monitoring and observability across the estate.
• Improve system resilience and support releases and on-call activity.
