Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff Engineer to join its Enterprise Technology team, focusing on identity and access management. Remote, US-based candidates only, with compensation of $164,450–$226,550 annually.

You will partner with security and product engineering to build scalable authentication, authorization, and user management systems serving a global user base. Responsibilities include designing the authorization platform, enhancing authentication, and guiding the long-term IAM roadmap.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience focusing on IAM systems.
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and WebFlux.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, GraphQL, gRPC, and REST APIs.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML 2.0.
• Experience in event-driven architecture and automated testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the authorization platform to determine user capabilities.
• Build and enhance the authentication platform for diverse use cases.
• Manage the user management platform for identity and entitlement provisioning.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure SOC2/GDPR-aligned secure design.
• Create scalable systems to accommodate a growing user base.
• Define long-term roadmap for authentication, authorization, and user management.
• Develop self-service APIs for product engineering teams to access user data.
