Job summary

GEI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Staff Professional in Madison, WI, to support civil, geotechnical, structural, or water resources engineering under supervision of senior staff. Responsibilities include field coordination, data management, and technical report development for dams, tunnels, landfills, and site development.

The role involves field tasks such as soil borings, well installations, and instrumentation, with travel for extended periods. A B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical Engineering or related field; M.S. desirable.
• E.I.T. desirable and ability to work towards professional registration.
• 0–4 years of relevant civil/geotechnical/structural engineering experience.
• Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
• Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint; CAD/Civil 3D and Revit desirable.
• Experience with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio and analysis/design tools (ENERCALC, MathCAD, SAP2000, STAAD, RISA) desirable.
• Ability to work independently and in a team; willingness to travel for field assignments.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Support services in Geotechnical, Structural, Solid Waste, Civil, or Water Resources engineering.
• Assist in feasibility studies, cost estimates, and design/specification packages.
• Support site investigations including soil borings and testing; coordinate subcontractors.
• Assist in data management, analysis, and technical report development.
• Perform construction observation and documentation for dams, landfills, buildings, and other infrastructures.
• Travel for extended fieldwork as needed.
