Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Service Deployments team within Core Change Management. You will own the deployment platform, drive end-to-end architecture, and lead multi-team initiatives that move code, configuration, and infrastructure changes safely at scale.

You will design and implement auth, safety, and observability features across a broad surface area, mentoring engineers and shaping the technical direction for dependable deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience in production infrastructure at scale.
• Ability to lead large, ambiguous infrastructure projects end-to-end across multiple teams.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, deployment orchestration and failure modes.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container-based deployments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of large, ambiguous infrastructure projects from design to production.
• Architect the deployment platform evolution including multi-service pipelines and Kubernetes primitives.
• Extend deploy anomaly detection and improve traffic analysis across stages.
• Lead incident response and reduce operational toil to improve reliability.
• Collaborate with Core Change Management and related teams on alignment and tooling.
• Set technical standards and mentor senior engineers in architectural decisions.
• Decompose complex platform challenges into scoped, parallelizable work.
