Job summary

Stripe is seeking a Technical Lead to guide a major service infrastructure team. You will mentor engineers, shape roadmaps, and drive architecture decisions for scalable, high-performance systems enabling Stripe's payments and related products.

You will work with cross-functional partners to translate business needs into robust infrastructure solutions while maintaining a strong culture of autonomy and accountability.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of technical experience.
• 5+ years in a strategic technical leadership role.
• Experience leading engineering teams on API design, abstractions, frameworks, or client libraries.
• Hands-on experience building infrastructure and products for internal or external customers.
• Proven ability to translate high-level strategy into actionable engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of talented engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure their success.
• Partner with Engineering Managers to create roadmaps that deliver milestones toward a cohesive engineering vision.
• Understand user needs and pain points to prioritize engineering work and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Drive the execution of projects from planning to delivery while upholding quality and timely completion.
• Collaborate with high-visibility teams and stakeholders to support infrastructure initiatives.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership in architecture, design, and incident response processes.
• Align Stripe's service roadmap with broader company goals and long-term vision.
• Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
