Job summary

Stripe is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and influence a set of critical infrastructure teams. You will balance reliability, scalability, security, and developer experience while partnering closely with product, data, security, and platform stakeholders to deliver durable platform capabilities.

You will grow senior engineers, shape roadmaps, and ensure high-quality execution across parallel initiatives, all while maintaining Stripe's velocity and focus on internal users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience with autonomous impact.
• Experience leading high-complexity engineering teams delivering multiple parallel workstreams.
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple engineering teams and drive high-priority workstreams independently.
• Define strategy and roadmap for your area, communicating a clear plan to team and leadership.
• Develop senior engineers and give candid feedback to improve performance.
• Drive cross-functional alignment with product, security, data, support and adjacent teams.
• Hire and scale the team while maintaining a high hiring bar and building an inclusive culture.
• Operate with rigor on reliability, scalability, incident response, and production governance.
