Job summary

Stripe in Seattle is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer for Service Deployments to own the foundation of how Stripe ships software. You will shape deployment platforms used by hundreds of teams and influence architectural decisions across multiple squads.

You will lead end-to-end infrastructure projects, drive reliability, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Resource Automation, Feature Deployments, and other teams. Office-based role in Seattle with a focus on safety and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Lead large, ambiguous infrastructure projects end-to-end.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems and deployment orchestration.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and container deployments.
• Strong reliability and operational excellence background.
• Broad technical impact with mentorship across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of large, ambiguous infrastructure projects.
• Architect the deployment platform evolution with multi-service pipelines.
• Extend deploy anomaly detection and early traffic analysis.
• Lead host-to-container fleet migration ensuring uptime.
• Drive incident response and reduce toil; improve safety.
• Build deployment event infrastructure and observability.
