Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead architecture, development, and scaling of core applications. You will bridge backend data systems, AI capabilities, and frontend experiences, building rich dashboards and secure microservices.

You will guide technical strategy, mentor teams, and embed AI into product suites, optimizing payer operations and ensuring operational excellence across the stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on full‑stack development and scalable apps.
• Proficiency in modern JS/TS frameworks and data viz libraries (D3.js, Recharts, Highcharts).
• Deep experience with server‑side languages (Node.js, Python, Java, C#, or Go) and microservices.
• Strong relational/NoSQL data work (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and ORM usage.
• Hands‑on AI model integration (OpenAI, Anthropic) and AI orchestration (LangChain).
• Public cloud expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD with containers and IaC.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate requirements into technical plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end design and development of scalable web apps (frontends to backend services).
• Architect dashboards and UIs to surface complex data insights.
• Develop secure APIs and data integration layers with diverse data sources.
• Champion AI features to automate workflows and generate insights.
• Drive DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, containerization and IaC in production.
• Set standards for monitoring, logging, and performance across the stack.
• Mentor frontend, backend and DevOps engineers and align with product roadmap.
• Operate well in ambiguity and guide stakeholders with questions.
