nLIGHT-DEFENSE Systems, Inc. in Longmont, CO, seeks a Staff Electrical Test Engineer to verify, validate, and qualify rugged electronic systems for defense applications.

You will develop automated and manual test solutions to ensure product performance and compliance with military standards. The role emphasizes hands-on testing, data-driven decisions, and collaboration across engineering teams to reduce risk and transition products from development to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hardware validation, integration, testing, or qualification of electronic systems.
• Experience developing automated test software using MATLAB, Python, C, and/or C++.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461.
• Experience executing EMC/EMI testing activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute manual, automated, and environmental test protocols for electronic systems and assemblies.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize automated test software using MATLAB, Python, C, and C++ for verification and EMC/EMI testing.
• Conduct verification and validation testing per military, aerospace, and quality standards.
• Interpret schematics, PCB layouts, datasheets, ICDs, and engineering specs for testing.
