Job summary

Robinhood in New York City is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead DevX, the developer infrastructure team. You will shape the long‑term strategy for build systems, CI pipelines, and remote environments, ensuring engineering velocity at scale.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate across teams to raise standards, and drive initiatives from concept to execution in a high‑visibility, fast‑moving environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, scaling, and operating developer infrastructure or high-volume build systems.
• Deep expertise in Bazel and distributed/remote build execution with CI/CD at scale.
• Strong programming proficiency in Go or Python, building reliable system software.

Responsibilities

• Architect the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for core developer infrastructure (CI, SCM, environments).
• Build and maintain scalable infrastructure with emphasis on speed, safety, and reliability.
• Lead onboarding and remote development environments to reduce time to first commit.
• Collaborate to standardize build and CI patterns and reduce developer friction.
• Provide mentorship through design reviews and best-practice guidelines.
