Job summary

NinjaOne is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer to own the end-to-end release lifecycle—from commit to production—designing and improving pipelines that enable engineers to ship quickly and safely. You’ll architect Terraform IaC for a cloud-agnostic foundation, currently AWS with Azure/GCP on the horizon, and set governance, risk, and security standards across teams.

In this high-ownership role you’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with Development, QA, Security, and IT, drive multi‑cloud deployment

Qualifications

• 10+ years cloud DevOps with AWS as primary.
• Multi-cloud production experience with AWS + Azure and/or GCP.
• 4+ years hands-on Terraform in production.
• Deep CD experience with progressive rollout and automated rollback.
• Enterprise-scale Terraform architecture experience.
• Real multi-cloud IaC architecture experience in production.
• Terraform ecosystem tooling including Terragrunt, Terraform Cloud/Enterprise, Atlantis, Sentinel/OPA, Checkov.
• Track record of driving org-wide IaC adoption (migrations, templates).
• Agile tools Jira/Confluence/Git/Bitbucket.
• Deep CI/CD tooling expertise with CircleCI preferred.
• Expert in cloud ops for scalable, reliable deployments.
• Track record of reducing lead time/change failure/time to recover.
• Ability to coach/mentor teams.
• 7+ years Unix (Linux, macOS, BSD, AIX).
• 5+ years scripting (Shell/Go/Python/PERL/Tcl) for deployment tooling.
• 5+ years monitoring/observability, drift detection.

Responsibilities

• Own the CD/Release Pipeline: design, build, and improve delivery pipelines with automated health checks and rollback.
• Lead Terraform/IaC strategy and architecture across AWS and multi-cloud.
• Establish governance: policy-as-code, security and cost scanning in Terraform pipeline.
• Drive org-wide adoption: document templates and training for teams beyond DevOps.
• Drive cross-cloud infrastructure delivery in AWS with Terraform, expand to Azure/GCP.
• Monitor pipelines, release health, Terraform activity, and infra alerts; own incident response.
• Mentor engineers on release engineering and IaC best practices.
• Other duties as needed.
