Journey Health System is seeking a Professional Development Specialist to support staff training and implement trauma-informed principles across programs. The role focuses on leadership collaboration, coaching, and on-the-job development during probationary periods.

The position emphasizes course content creation, needs assessments, and delivery of effective training to improve employee performance and program outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5 years MH/IDD experience required.
• Certified SCM, Ukeru and CPR/First Aid instructor or willing to certify within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist leadership in training staff and in supporting trauma-informed practices.
• Help implement trainings, meetings and practices to promote staff development.
• Coach and develop new staff through on-the-job training during employment.
• Bridge between employees and management; report issues to improve workplace efficiency.
• Review, interview and hire prospective new employees for residential programs.
• Create course content and design presentations for effective learning.
• Assess training needs to enhance employee performance and program effectiveness.
