Job summary

Elizabeth Care Center in Elizabeth, WV is seeking an experienced Staff Development Registered Nurse (RN) to educate, onboard, and mentor our nursing team. This role emphasizes teaching, coaching, and supporting clinical staff to uphold high standards of resident care.

The RN will coordinate orientation, manage records, promote infection prevention, and ensure compliance with CMS and facility policies while partnering with leadership to foster continuous learning and staff retention.

Qualifications

• Current West Virginia RN license and active status.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing orientation and onboarding for RNs, LPNs, CNAs and other staff.
• Develop ongoing staff education, in-services and skills training.
• Assess competencies and identify education or coaching needs.
• Maintain education, competency, certification, and training records.
• Partner with nursing leadership to identify training needs from outcomes and audits.
• Provide coaching and hands-on clinical support to nursing staff.
• Educate staff on infection prevention, documentation, policies, and standards of care.
• Support annual and regulatory education and competency programs.
• Assist with implementation of new clinical processes and initiatives.
• Participate in QAPI activities.
