Smithfield Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a Staff Development Coordinator to lead education and professional growth of clinical and support staff. You will design, implement, and evaluate training programs to ensure expert, compassionate resident care.

The role blends leadership with clinical expertise, overseeing onboarding, infection control, and ongoing staff development while collaborating with department heads to close skills gaps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN), Education, or related field required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Current RN license preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years in a clinical or educational role within healthcare, preferably long-term care.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Infection Control Certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create and deliver training programs including orientation and continuing education.
• Ensure certifications and regulatory compliance are maintained.
• Oversee onboarding for new hires and provide education during transition.
• Develop and monitor infection prevention and control policies.
• Mentor staff, foster learning, and provide hands-on training to improve clinical competencies.
• Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and skill gaps.
• Maintain accurate records of trainings and certifications.

About the Role:

As the Staff Development Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the education and development of our clinical and non-clinical staff. You will design, implement, and evaluate training programs to ensure our team is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to provide exceptional care to our residents. This role combines leadership, education, and clinical expertise, offering a fulfilling opportunity to impact the lives of both staff and residents positively.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training and Development: Create and facilitate training programs, including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education initiatives.
2. Compliance Management: Ensure all staff maintain required certifications and adhere to regulatory compliance.
