Job summary
Invoca is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Data Platform team. You will shape the technical vision, drive 3-month delivery plans, and enable product teams to leverage data as context for AI agents.
You will work on ingestion, lakehouse evolution, and data tooling, partnering across engineering, analytics, and data science to deliver reliable data for decision making and AI workflows.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with data platform, infrastructure, or backend systems.
- Proven technical leadership: vision, architecture, iterative delivery, and releases.
- Hands-on with Databricks or lakehouse platforms and modern orchestration tooling.
- Experience delivering data to AI systems as context is a strong plus.
- Experience building data systems and tools adopted broadly for speed and reliability.
- Experience building AI tools and agentic workflows with practical use.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the data platform's technical vision across product teams.
- Design and build ingestion, streaming, and transformation pipelines for data and signals.
- Evolve lakehouse architecture and core data analysis tooling for exploration and reporting.
- Ensure product teams can safely build on data without deep infra expertise.
- Drive alignment across engineering and product teams through clear reasoning and guidance.
- Own and execute the rolling 3-month delivery plan and ship high-impact outcomes.
- Build systems to provide data as context for Invoca's AI agents.
