Job summary

Invoca is seeking a Staff-level engineering leader to build and scale its shared AI platform across product teams. You will define vision, build reusable AI capabilities, and set standards for production AI systems.

You will operate at the intersection of engineering, product, data, and leadership, driving adoption and measurable business impact across multiple teams, with remote-first posture and location flexibility in the United States.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or platform infrastructure.
• Strong practical experience with modern AI systems, including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation, and production AI architectures.
• A track record of building platforms or systems that are widely adopted because they meaningfully improve developer or product team productivity.
• Strong architectural judgment with a bias toward simplicity, usability, and adoption over theoretical completeness.
• Experience working closely with product teams to ship customer-facing capabilities, not just internal tooling.
• Strong ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes and product strategy.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical vision for Invoca's shared AI platform across all product teams.
• Build reusable AI capabilities (e.g., LLM integrations, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, model routing) that accelerate product development.
• Ensure product teams can safely and easily incorporate AI into customer-facing features without deep AI infrastructure expertise.
• Continuously identify where shared platform investments can unlock new product capabilities or eliminate duplicated engineering effort.
