Invoca is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Data Platform team, defining the strategic direction for ingestion, lakehouse architecture, and data tooling. You will mentor engineers, own the 3-month delivery plan, and ensure data reliability and timely releases across product teams.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of software engineering experience, hands-on Databricks or lakehouse experience, and a track record of turning complex data into measurable business outcomes, including AI

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with impact in production environments.
• Proven technical leadership: vision, architecture, and roadmap delivery.
• Hands-on with Databricks or lakehouse platforms; modern pipelines are preferred.
• Experience delivering data to AI systems as context is a strong plus.
• Data systems that were broadly adopted due to speed, quality, reliability, or safety.
• Experience building AI tools and agentic workflows with practical impact.
• Strong judgment favoring simplicity and adoption over completeness.
• Ability to connect technical work to business outcomes and communicate it clearly.
• Experience partnering across engineering, product, and business functions.

Responsabilités

• Define and evolve the data platform vision across ingestion, streaming, and serving layers.
• Own and execute the rolling 3-month delivery plan and ensure high-impact releases.
• Build data context for AI agents and product teams with clear data contracts.
• Promote agentic workflows, self-healing data pipelines, and observability.
• Standardize data platform practices and treat the platform as a product for internal users.
• Translate platform decisions into business-relevant metrics like data freshness, reliability, and cost.
