Invoca is seeking a Staff-level technical leader to shape a shared AI platform that enables product teams to ship high‑quality AI features quickly. You will define standards, build reusable AI capabilities, and partner across Security, Legal, and Data to ensure responsible AI usage.

You will lead architectural direction across multiple teams, drive platform adoption, and align investments with measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Deep experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or platform infrastructure.
• Strong practical experience with modern AI systems, including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation, and production AI architectures.
• Track record of building platforms or systems that are widely adopted and improve developer or product team productivity.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical vision for Invoca's shared AI platform across all product teams.
• Build reusable AI capabilities (e.g., LLM integrations, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, model routing).
• Ensure product teams can safely integrate AI into customer-facing features without deep AI infra expertise.
• Identify where platform investments unlock new product capabilities or reduce duplicated engineering effort.
• Reduce friction for teams building, deploying, and iterating on AI-powered features.
• Improve consistency, reliability, and cost efficiency of AI usage across the org.
• Enable rapid experimentation with AI features while ensuring safety, governance, and observability.
• Drive adoption of platform capabilities through simplicity and clear product value.
• Define best practices for production AI systems, prompt management, observability, and performance tracking.
• Partner with Security, Legal, and Data teams for responsible AI usage.
• Improve reliability and quality of AI systems through shared tooling and infra.
• Provide architectural direction across engineering and product teams.
• Influence technical and product decisions with clear judgment and reasoning.
• Raise the engineering bar by simplifying systems and reducing complexity.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to leadership.
• Prioritize platform work based on customer and business impact.
• Evaluate platform investments by adoption, productivity, and measurable delivery acceleration.
