Job summary
Headway is seeking a technical leader to architect and own the cloud platform used by every engineer. You will isolate blast radius, automate scaling, and build a self-serve infrastructure platform so the team focuses on strategic work.
You will also anchor Headway’s compute, networking, and deployment platform with Staff-level influence across teams. You will guide deployment safety, optimize container footprints (ECS/EKS), and drive capacity planning, cost attribution, and reliability reviews
Qualifications
- 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles at high-traffic companies.
- Deep AWS expertise with compute and networking at scale (ECS, EKS, RDS, IAM).
- Strong IaC experience, especially Terraform, with self-serve platforms.
- Hands-on autoscaling and capacity engineering with container orchestration.
Responsibilities
- Own deployment architecture and blast-radius containment.
- Lead ECS/EKS footprint decisions and network connectivity.
- Own capacity planning and scalable design based on data.
- Build a Terraform self-serve platform with guardrails.
- Implement per-team cost attribution and cloud cost controls.
- Own Python runtime health and framework upgrades for the monolith.
