Job summary

Headway is hiring for an Infrastructure Engineer to architect and own the cloud platform used by every engineer. You will drive isolation of blast radius, trustworthy autoscaling, and a self-serve infrastructure platform to empower teams.

You will own the ECS/EKS footprint, multi-team cost attribution, and the health of the Python/FastAPI monolith on AWS, ensuring safe, scalable deployments across the system.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform, infrastructure, or SRE roles at companies with significant production traffic.
• Deep AWS expertise and production ownership of compute and networking at scale (ECS, EKS, RDS, networking, IAM).
• Hands-on autoscaling and capacity engineering; container orchestration with ECS and/or EKS.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience, particularly Terraform, including self-serve platforms for other teams.

Responsibilities

• Deployment architecture and blast-radius containment; per-service deploy isolation and fault containment.
• Own the ECS and EKS footprint and inter-service network connectivity.
• Capacity and scaling for spiky workloads with data-driven auto-scaling.
• Build the Terraform self-serve infrastructure platform with guardrails.
