Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an experienced Capacity Engineer to design and operate production systems that power capacity planning, allocation, and efficiency across multi-cloud environments. You will build data pipelines, observability tooling, and performance instrumentation to maximize utilization of compute resources.

You will collaborate with research engineering, infrastructure, inference, and finance teams in a high-autonomy, ambiguous environment, delivering production-quality code and owning

Qualifications

• Hands-on engineering role with a devops flavor.
• Python and SQL at production quality.
• Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience with observability tooling stack: Prometheus, PromQL, Grafana.
• Ability to gather requirements and work across organizational boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Build the planning and allocation stack for capacity and scheduling.
• Drive efficiency programs: rightsizing and unused capacity recovery.
• Own attribution and forecasting across providers and telemetry.
• Build the data platform: pipelines ingesting occupancy, utilization, and cost into BigQuery.
• Operate Kubernetes-native systems at scale with agents and scheduling rules.
• Treat the output as a product and define schemas for internal consumers.
