Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Capacity Planner to join the Demand Planning team. You will translate forecasts into concrete requirements for accelerator clusters, interconnects, regions, and dates, and participate in sourcing negotiations and reviews.

You will own the bring-up system of record, define the canonical state machine, and track delivery variance across the portfolio, enabling proactive capacity management across cloud and on-prem environments.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering large-scale infrastructure—cloud regions, accelerator clusters, HPC systems, or bare-metal fleets.
• Technical range from through cluster orchestration and node health to telemetry and planning tables on top.
• SQL and enough Python to answer your own questions and build your own reporting.
• A degree in a technical field or an equivalent engineering track record.

Responsibilities

• Turn the forecast into per-tranche requirements across accelerator, interconnect, region, and date; support sourcing negotiations and reviews.
• Qualify tranches for deliverability before signature, ensuring land schedulable, healthy, instrumented status with storage, egress, and identity.
• Close the delivery loop by tracking forecast vs. delivered across shape, region, and timing; publish variance and feed back into planning.
• Own the bring-up system of record; define the contract-to-occupied state machine with explicit criteria per stage in the capacity data layer.
• Run a portfolio of bring-ups in parallel across new cloud regions, on-prem sites, and neocloud blocks with an integrated schedule and milestones.
• Drive readiness automation: integrate all capacity systems from contracted to ingested, automated, and scaled.
• Instrument and publish key metrics—time-to-occupied and paid-idle dollars per tranche—with executive-level reporting.
