Job summary

GCS Recruitment Specialists is seeking a Cloud Capacity Engineer to join a growing infrastructure team. You’ll focus on private cloud platforms, capacity planning, forecasting, data analysis, and automation to ensure resources meet business demand.

Responsibilities include building and automating capacity planning tools, developing forecasting models, analyzing compute/storage performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize budgets and capacity.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in infrastructure analytics, capacity planning or forecasting.
• Experience with cloud or private cloud infrastructure.
• Strong data analysis, modeling and forecasting skills.
• Ability to automate tools or processes.

• Build and automate tools for capacity planning, forecasting, and sizing.
• Develop forecasting models to predict long-term growth of computing resources.
• Analyze utilization and performance of compute and storage environments.
• Support capacity planning for private cloud environments, including VMs and containers.
• Help determine data center power, rack, and cooling requirements.
• Validate procurement requirements using models and designs.
• Partner with compute, storage, and network teams on BOMs and designs.
• Support scaling, growth, and capacity augmentation decisions.
• Identify underutilized resources and opportunities for efficiency.
• Partner with finance on capacity planning and budgets.
• Evaluate capacity data and thresholds to identify risks.
• Develop and maintain capacity planning frameworks and inventory.

Cloud Capacity Engineer | Private Cloud Infrastructure

We're looking for a Cloud Capacity Engineer to join a growing infrastructure engineering team supporting private cloud platforms and enterprise-scale systems.

This role sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, capacity planning, forecasting, data analysis, and automation. You'll help determine how much compute, storage, networking, power, rack space, and cooling capacity is needed to support future growth.

You'll work closely with application development teams, infrastructure engineers, operations, procurement, and finance to make sure infrastructure capacity aligns with business and technology demands.

What You'll Do

• Build and automate tools for infrastructure capacity planning, forecasting, and sizing
• Develop forecasting models to predict long-term growth of computing resources
• Analyze utilization and performance of compute and storage environments
• Support capacity planning for private cloud environments, including VMs and containers
• Help determine data center power, rack, and cooling requirements
• Validate infrastructure procurement requirements using models and architecture designs
• Partner with compute, storage, and network engineering teams on infrastructure designs and bills of materials
• Support infrastructure scaling, future growth, and capacity augmentation decisions

• Evaluate capacity data and thresholds to identify potential performance or availability risks
• Develop and maintain infrastructure capacity planning frameworks and inventory

What We're Looking For

• Approximately 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure analytics, capacity planning, forecasting, or related engineering
• Experience working with cloud or private cloud infrastructure
• Understanding of compute, virtualization, storage, and networking
• Experience with data analysis, modeling, forecasting, or capacity management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience automating tools or processes
• Ability to work cross-functionally with application and infrastructure engineering teams
