SmithRx is a remote-friendly Health-Tech company hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own backend design and implementation across the product suite. You will shape architecture, write scalable APIs, and mentor teammates while driving quality and delivery cadence.

Ideal candidates have 8–12 years building server-side systems, experience with Go/Java/Kotlin, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and AWS. Startup exposure is a plus in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of software development experience with server-side apps.
• Strong experience building API servers, third-party integrations and data processing.
• Expert in Go, Java or Kotlin; proficient with PostgreSQL, GraphQL.
• Familiar with CI/CD, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes; startup experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Focus on backend architecture; design, develop and maintain SmithRx product features.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and produce scalable software.
• Develop technical designs and provide scope/risk estimates for builds.
• Mentor junior engineers and help turn technical vision into a quarterly roadmap.
• Champion best practices, testing, automation and design patterns.
