TeamSnap is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join our fully distributed engineering team. You will architect and evolve backend APIs, services, and data models that power millions of daily users and thousands of organizations.

You will own complex backend work from discovery through design, implementation, rollout, and production support, while mentoring engineers and raising the overall quality bar across the team. This role emphasizes reliability, observability, and scalable systems.

Competenze

• Strong Node expertise with production backend systems.
• Staff level backend engineering depth in high-scale APIs or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of backend technologies including Node, TypeScript, Elixir, Ruby/Rails, Java, Go, Python.

Mansioni

• Architect, build, and evolve backend APIs, services, event-driven workflows, queues, background jobs, data models, caching strategies, and integrations that support millions of users.
• Own complex backend product and technical work from discovery through design, implementation, rollout, production support, and long term maintainability.
• Lead ambiguous technical initiatives by breaking down problems, identifying risks, making practical tradeoffs, and helping teams move from uncertainty to clear execution.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and operability of production systems through thoughtful architecture, testing, database optimization, caching, monitoring, and incident follow-up.
