TeamSnap is hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to work across the stack in a fully distributed team. You will help us scale systems serving millions of daily users using Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL in a remote-first environment.

The role emphasizes designing APIs, building scalable services, and collaborating with product and UX teams to deliver features that improve youth sports experiences globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience leading large projects on high-scale distributed software systems.
• Proficient in backend development with Node, Python, Golang, Ruby or similar.
• Experience with direct usage of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL / GCP Cloud SQL including migrations, profiling, and optimization.
• Hands-on experience developing APIs and services for mobile apps and web clients at scale.
• Experience with designing APIs, event streams, webhooks, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop engaging experiences for millions of users across mobile and web apps.
• Design and implement scalable apps and services integrated into a unified product architecture.
• Brainstorm and evaluate new product features with product and UX teams.
• Collaborate and pair with other developers to craft solutions and share skills.
• Contribute to development standards for code quality and reliability across the team.
• Champion automated testing practices to improve backend dependability and service reliability.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities and incident management.
• Evaluate new technologies to help TeamSnap move faster.
• Help teammates overcome blockers and complete tasks.
