TeamSnap is hiring a Staff Backend Engineer to join our fully distributed engineering team. You will architect and build backend APIs, services, data models, and event-driven workflows to scale to millions of users and thousands of sports organizations.

You will own complex backend work end-to-end, from discovery through design, rollout, and long-term maintainability, while mentoring engineers and shaping technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating production-grade backend services.
• Ability to own complex backend work from discovery to rollout and maintenance.
• Strong communication for cross-team collaboration and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and evolve backend APIs, services, and data models.
• Lead high-impact technical initiatives with clear trade-offs.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and observability of production systems.
• Debug complex production issues across databases, caches, and queues.
