Job summary

Quo is a remote-first startup building AI-powered enterprise communications. We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the AI Agent Platform, defining technical direction for how agents are built and run at Quo.

You will write significant code, shape the platform’s architecture, and influence how every customer experiences AI inside Quo. You’ll own orchestration, scalability, and memory design for agents, mentoring engineers and collaborating closely with product and other teams to

Qualifications

• Built and scaled backend for a product with many users.
• Shipped LLM-powered systems to production, e.g., an agent platform or orchestration layer.
• Strong in TypeScript and Node.js; able to ramp on other backends.
• Demonstrates high agency, initiates tasks, and drives outcomes.
• Keeps up with AI models, agent tooling, and writes clear design docs.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of the agent platform and its execution engine.
• Build orchestration for multi-agent coordination and long-running tasks.
• Design memory and self-learning to improve agents from feedback.
• Drive scale, performance, reliability, and cost of agent execution as usage grows.
• Create accessible docs and default configurations; pair with others.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and coaching across the AI domain.
• Stay informed on LLMs and agent tooling and propose practical roadmaps.
