Job summary

Seeq is seeking an AI Software Engineer to define and scale backend platforms and AI systems powering our intelligent applications. You will own ambiguous, cross-team tasks, provide architectural leadership, and drive production-ready AI capabilities with strong backend expertise.

This remote-first role emphasizes engineering excellence, reliability, and collaboration with customers during early deployments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Substantial focus on generative AI or agentic systems.
• Proven track record leading complex AI/platform initiatives from concept through production.
• Hands-on experience building and operating agentic systems (agents, routing/orchestration, tool use, evaluations, runtimes, sandboxing).
• Deep expertise in Python and backend engineering (distributed systems, APIs, data-intensive workflows).
• Experience designing or owning shared platform services or infrastructure used by multiple teams.
• Experience with modern AI/LLM frameworks and orchestration tooling for production AI.
• Experience developing evaluation strategies and observability for AI/agentic systems.
• Familiarity with SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience deploying production systems in Kubernetes or containerized environments.
• Experience in SaaS environments.
• Strong production-focused concerns: reliability, monitoring, cost, failure handling.
• Ability to own ambiguous technical problems and drive them forward.
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring abilities.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for backend and AI platform capabilities.
• Lead high-impact AI and platform initiatives across engineers and stakeholders.
• Architect agentic systems including routing, orchestration, tools, and runtimes.
• Build and evolve shared platform infrastructure and APIs for multiple teams.
• Develop reliable distributed and data-intensive services for AI workloads.
• Create reusable AI platform capabilities for cross-team usage.
• Drive evaluation and reliability of agentic outputs and system observability.
• Design integrations with internal services and third-party platforms.
• Translate emerging AI approaches into practical, production-ready software.
• Engage with customers during early deployments to gather real-world learnings.
• Mentor and grow engineers in backend architecture, platform engineering, and AI.
