Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the FinHub - Transfers team in the Platform group. You will own the architectural direction of fund movements across crypto and fiat rails, guiding high-scale systems with a focus on reliability and security.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives with Payments, Trading, and product engineering, drive scalable design decisions, and mentor engineers on distributed systems best practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Backend programming in Go, Ruby, Python or Java, with cloud-native architecture.
• Experience delivering high-reliability financial systems with transaction integrity.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of Transfers' fund movement systems.
• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives end-to-end.
• Drive backend infrastructure evolution using cloud-native patterns.
• Establish engineering standards and code review practices.
• Mentor engineers on system design and reliability.
