Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the FinHub - Transfers team. You will own the architectural direction of fund movement systems across crypto and fiat rails, influencing design and scalability for a high-scale financial platform.

You will lead complex cross-team initiatives with Payments, Trading, and product engineering, and advance backend infrastructure with cloud-native patterns while mentoring engineers to uphold reliability and integrity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep expertise in backend programming and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience delivering and scaling financial or high-reliability systems.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of Transfers' fund movement systems and scalability across crypto and fiat rails.
• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives with Payments, Trading, and product engineering teams.
• Drive evolution of backend infrastructure using modern cloud-native patterns and identify scaling bottlenecks early.
• Establish engineering standards, code review practices, and architectural patterns; mentor engineers.
