Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer on the FinHub - Transfers team to own the architectural direction of fund movement systems across crypto and fiat rails.

You will influence architecture, reliability, and scalability for high-traffic, financial-grade platforms used by Retail, Prime, Exchange, and Payments product lines. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, and guide platform evolution with cloud-native patterns while ensuring financial integrity and

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Backend programming in Go, Ruby, Python, or Java with cloud-native architecture.
• Experience delivering and scaling financial systems with high reliability and transactional integrity.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
• Uses generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of Transfers' fund movement systems and drive scalable design decisions.
• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives with Payments, Trading, and product engineering to deliver new capabilities.
• Advance the backend infrastructure with cloud-native patterns and preempt bottlenecks.
• Establish engineering standards and architectural patterns to raise quality and reduce risk.
