Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the FinHub - Transfers team.

You will own architectural direction of fund movements across crypto and fiat rails, building scalable, high-reliability systems for Retail, Prime, Exchange, International, and Payments products. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, and establish standards to reduce risk in financial systems while leveraging cloud-native patterns and responsible AI practices.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Deep expertise in backend programming languages (Go, Ruby, Python, Java) and cloud-native architecture.
• Experience delivering and scaling financial systems with high reliability and auditability.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture of Transfers' fund movement systems across crypto and fiat rails.
• Lead cross-team engineering initiatives to deliver new fund movement capabilities.
• Drive evolution of backend infrastructure with cloud-native patterns and scalability improvements.
• Mentor engineers on system design, distributed systems, and production services.
