About The Role

The Staff Attorney – Criminal Law and Research will collaborate with paralegals and teams requesting court records, providing training and guidance. The ideal candidate will create concise summaries from extensive information, develop strategic approaches, and have a keen interest in learning immigration law. There are opportunities for career growth and additional responsibilities based on performance.

What You'll Do

• Conduct legal research on criminal impacts on immigration applications and waivers;
• Draft legal responses to USCIS based on research;
• Stay updated on immigration law changes related to criminal inadmissibility;
• Assist in requesting federal and state court records;
• Review criminal records and background checks;
• Identify potential immigration solutions based on background investigations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; active bar membership;
• Experience in legal research;
• Knowledge of criminal law and court records;
• Immigration law experience is a plus;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills;
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Dropbox, Outlook.

Compensation

The pay range for this role is $65,000 per year. (Remote)
