About The Role

The Staff Attorney – Criminal Law and Research will collaborate with paralegals and teams requesting court records, providing training and guidance. The ideal candidate will create concise summaries from extensive information and develop strategic plans. A willingness to learn immigration law, goal-oriented mindset, and motivation to assist clients are essential. There is potential for career growth and additional responsibilities with strong performance.

What You'll Do

• Conduct legal research on criminal issues impacting immigration applications or requiring waivers.
• Prepare legal responses based on criminal research for USCIS.
• Stay updated on changes in immigration law related to criminal inadmissibility and adapt procedures accordingly.
• Assist and train teams on requesting federal and state court records.
• Review criminal records and background checks.
• Identify immigration solutions based on background investigations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in a state bar.
• Legal research experience.
• Familiarity with criminal law and court records.
• Immigration law experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Dropbox, and Outlook.

Pay Range

$65,000 per year (Remote).
