Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Air Vehicle Management Engineer (Level 5) to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering for aircraft modifications. Role located at Marietta, GA with potential relocation to Melbourne, FL based on business needs.

This IC position requires strong collaboration with Chief Engineers, PMs, and external clients, and relies on NX/CPLM CAD tooling, subsystems knowledge, and a track record of aerospace program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required with extensive related experience
• Master's degree acceptable with significant related experience
• PhD acceptable with related experience

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time engineering solutions during aircraft modifications.
• Coordinate across design, manufacturing, and supply chain to resolve issues.
• Manage stakeholder integration with Chief Engineers, PMs, and customers.
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Apply subsystems knowledge (electrical, hydraulics, fuels, propulsion).
• Support structural design activities for metallic structures.
• Utilize 3D CAD tools to support detailed design tasks.
• Coordinate daily with suppliers and Northrop Grumman teams.
