Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Staff Air Vehicle Management Engineer (Level 5) to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts for aircraft modifications, interfacing with program management and customers. This IC role is based at the Marietta, GA site with potential relocation to Melbourne, FL depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 12+ years of related professional/military experience, or advanced degrees with fewer years
• Active security clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
• Experience leading engineering groups and interfacing with customers

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time engineering solutions during aircraft modifications and address non-conforming parts
• Coordinate across design, manufacturing, Global Supply Chain and related disciplines
• Manage stakeholder integration by coordinating technical modifications with Chief Engineers, Program Managers, and external clients
• Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• Apply basic subsystems knowledge including electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids, and propulsion systems
• Support structural design activities with a focus on metallic structures
• Utilize 3D CAD tools (NX/CPLM) to support detailed design tasks
• Coordinate daily with suppliers and Northrop Grumman teams to ensure alignment on project goals
