Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Senior Principal Air Vehicle Manager (Level 4) to lead modifications, coordinate cross‑discipline teams, and ensure technical execution for aircraft systems at the Marietta, GA site, with potential relocation to Melbourne, FL.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive engineering experience, active security clearances, and the ability to work on-site full-time in a fast‑paced environment supporting government programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years.
• Active US Government Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance; Interim TS is required prior to start.
• Experience with design CAD tools such as NX or CPLM; aerospace manufacturing background preferred.
• Experience leading engineering groups and interfacing with customers and management.
• Strong communication, problem solving and coordination across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time engineering solutions during aircraft modifications and resolve non-conforming parts.
• Coordinate across design, manufacturing, supply chain, and other disciplines to resolve issues.
• Manage stakeholder integration by coordinating technical modifications with Chief Engineers, PMs, and clients.
• Demonstrate leadership and effective communication in a multidisciplinary team.
• Support subsystems knowledge including electrical, hydraulics, fuels, fluids, and propulsion.
