Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a hands-on Tech Lead / Staff Software Development Engineer to drive AI transformation across our product platform. You’ll own full-stack AI capabilities, spanning backend services, APIs, and frontend interfaces, and guide the team’s technical direction.

The role requires leading technical design, mentoring engineers, and delivering production-grade solutions with an emphasis on performance, reliability, and maintainability in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

8+ years of professional software engineering with full-stack ownership.
2+ years building and operating LLM/agent-powered apps in production.
Hands-on experience with CopilotKit (or comparable in-app agent UI frameworks).
Experience with Deep Agents-style systems: multi-step planning and sub-agent orchestration.

Responsibilities

Architect and build full-stack AI applications spanning backend, APIs, and frontend.
Lead technical design for agent-powered features using CopilotKit and Deep Agents architectures.
Instrument and evaluate agent behavior in production to reduce latency, cost, and error rate.
Own API design and state synchronization between backend agent logic and frontend experience.
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers on agentic systems and platform scalability.
Collaborate with product/design to translate requests into scoped, testable technical plans.
