Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will act as both Technical Lead and Individual Contributor to help build our next-generation platform and deliver use cases into products focused on helping people live healthier lives.

This role combines hands-on coding with architectural oversight, mentoring, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, high-quality software delivery in a fast-paced digital environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience working with enterprise solution delivery in a large-scale distributed software design environment.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and solutions with cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile-based development environment.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers on solution design and architecture discussions
• Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to align and drive decision-making
• Promote adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality
• Participate in knowledge sharing activities, such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops
• Work with other developers to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure delivery of high-quality code
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers to grow technically
