Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will act as both technical lead and individual contributor to build our next‑generation platform and enable use cases into products that improve health outcomes for customers. This role emphasizes design of scalable solutions and collaboration with architects.

You will contribute to solution design, review code, mentor juniors, and apply Generative AI concepts where appropriate, within a fast‑paced digital environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years delivering enterprise solutions in large-scale distributed environments.
• 5+ years Java development experience.
• 5+ years cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years Agile development experience.
• 2+ years Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions meeting business requirements.
• Participate in architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability to meet objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and quality.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure alignment and technical insights.
• Adopt new technologies and tools to boost productivity and code quality.
• Mentor junior developers and share knowledge through talks and workshops.
