Job summary

Pearson is seeking an experienced forward deployed engineer to embed with internal lines of business and ship working software against real problems. You’ll design and build end-to-end systems, from data inputs to production deployments, while collaborating with executives and engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full-stack engineering with production systems
• Strong CS fundamentals; architecture thinking and whiteboard skills
• Frontend depth with React/TypeScript and modern component design
• Backend depth in Node.js, Java, and Python; API design and auth
• Production LLM experience; real-world AI toolchains and eval frameworks
• Fluency with AI-assisted development tools; demonstrable process
• Data fluency; working with databases and Python tooling
• Cloud and deployment fluency (AWS, GCP, Azure); real URL exposure and auth

Responsibilities

• Go where the problem is; work directly with internal stakeholders to design and build end-to-end solutions
• Conduct real discovery by watching users and translating needs into tangible implementations
• Build during conversations; deliver working software quickly, not just wireframes
• Handle messy inputs and synthesize them into coherent systems
• Ship production AI applications using frontier LLMs, agents, retrieval, and deployment at scale
• Iterate across multiple engagements; adapt to changing requirements
• Own the full stack including frontend, backend, data, deployment, URLs, and observability
• Codify reusable patterns and push them to platform teams for reuse
• Maintain ongoing liaison with the business line to identify new opportunities
