Job summary

Factored is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to lead enterprise GenAI architectures and work directly with enterprise clients. You will define production-grade AI solutions, guide multi‑team delivery, and act as a trusted technical advisor.

This role requires configuring scalable backend systems, building data pipelines, and shaping executive-level AI strategy. Equity participation and growth opportunities are integral to the role.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Software/ML Engineering with 3+ years in production GenAI/LLM apps
• 2+ years in customer-facing or forward-deployed roles
• Experience architecting scalable backend microservices and APIs
• Fluent English communication (written and spoken)
• Ownership through equity participation

• Ability to translate client problems into technical requirements

Responsibilities

• Partner with client executives to translate business problems into AI solution architectures
• Design and build scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and APIs with LLMs, RAGs
• Implement multi-agent orchestration and advanced retrieval mechanisms
• Deploy cloud-native AI apps on AWS, GCP, Azure, or Databricks using Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD
• Instrument systems with LLM telemetry, cost-tracking, security guardrails, and evaluation harnesses
• Fine-tune prompts and optimize inference latency with caching/quantization
• Serve as embedded technical authority to align cross-functional teams and manage risks
• Mentor client technical staff for long-term autonomy
• Elevate team standards and code quality
