Job summary

Cogent is seeking founding and staff-level engineers to architect and implement the core of our data platform, enabling ingestion, normalization, and transformation of enterprise data into a knowledge base for GenAI systems.

You will build robust data connectors, pipelines, and indexing strategies, supporting semantic search and retrieval augmented generation, while aligning with a scalable, secure backend architecture across clouds.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a hands-on engineer and technical leader
• Experience building data pipelines for information retrieval systems in enterprise settings
• ETL orchestration with Temporal, Airflow; batch and streaming systems (Kafka/Flink)
• Strong database fundamentals, SQL, data reliability, and distributed computing
• Fluent with orchestration and deployment tools (Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Databricks) across clouds

Responsibilities

• Build data connectors and pipelines to ingest and normalize enterprise data
• Design high-performance data pipelines and indexing for AI use cases
• Lead architecture decisions for scalable GenAI data platform across multiple integrations
