Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, AI, in New York City to build and deploy production-ready AI applications. This hands-on role requires taking ownership from design through production for core systems.

You will design and ship backend services, APIs, and integrations, work across engineering and product teams, and drive architecture, standards, and best practices while staying deeply involved in code.

Qualifications

Strong software engineering fundamentals
Experience owning technical initiatives
Proficiency with Python, TypeScript, or similar languages
Experience designing backend services and APIs
Hands-on with AI technologies and LLMs

Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy production-grade software and AI applications
Own major technical initiatives from architecture to production
Develop backend services, APIs, integrations, and infrastructure
Build systems that incorporate large language models and modern AI tech
Integrate AI capabilities with existing apps, data sources, and business systems
Improve reliability, scalability, performance, and quality of production apps
Evaluate new technologies and their potential impact on products and workflows
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into working software
Help establish architecture patterns, engineering standards, and best practices
Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with development
