Job summary

uiAgent is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to own the intelligence layer of our platform end-to-end, from agent architectures to reliable scale. You’ll move fluidly between model integration, backend systems, and infrastructure as we build a real AI product for accounting workflows.

You’ll design agentic systems, RAG pipelines, multi-agent coordination, and production-grade tooling, collaborating with the team in our Manhattan office to move fast and ship reliable software.

Qualifications

• Production AI experience delivering features to real users.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, and multi-agent coordination.
• Strong engineering fundamentals across backend, infra, and scalable systems.
• Able to thrive in fast-paced startup environments and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the core AI agent architectures powering the platform.
• Develop and maintain backend services, scalable APIs, and data handling for AI systems.
• Own infrastructure: CI/CD, containerization, AWS, observability, and reliability at scale.
• Collaborate closely with founders and team in Manhattan to iterate quickly and ship.
